The series also contains a letter written by Prime Minister Shimon Peres to the students at Clemson Hillel on the assassination of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin in November 1995.

Shimon Peres was born Shimon Perski in Wiszniew, Poland (now Belarus) in August 1923. He moved with his immediate family to Palestine in 1934. He had a varied and highly prestigious political career in Israel, culminating in a term as President of Israel. He married Sonya Gelman in 1945, with whom he shared three children.
